ANNVILLE, Pa. – Training trip week for
Seth Phillips and Widener Men's Swimming shows well in a short meet against Lebanon Valley.
The 159-34 win extends the Pride's undefeated season to 8-0 with a 5-0 conference record.
A first place in the 200-meter medley relay showed a 1:55.21 from
Alex Chan, Phillips,
Kyle Cantrell, and
Matthew Niro.
Sean Lehan's 800-meter free of 9:03.62 would win by over 45 seconds.
Phillips' first individual event came in the 200-meter free where he touched first in a 2:05.50 to lead a 1-2-3.
Adam Bailey took second with a 2:09.20 and Pat Rauch took third in a 2:09.79.
First year
Zach Delgado won the 50-meter free with a 25.73 and Chan took second 0.07 seconds behind.
The Pride swept the 200-meter individual medley with
Jason Mongiovi taking first with a 2:20.20.
Michael Machristie finished with a 2:28.23 and Niro finished the group out with a 2:28.64.
Another sweep an event later would be led by
Shane Douthit with a 1:02.52 100-meter butterfly.
Patrick Rankin finished with a 1:03.90 and Cantrell touched in a 1:05.54.
Phillips' 56.62 100-meter free would end his day of competition as he led a sweep. Delgado took second in a 57.95 and
Noah Fedo touched in a 1:03.64.
Josh Cunningham's first individual event of the afternoon came during the 100-meter backstroke. Cunningham clocked in a 1:08.16 to lead
Isaiah Moreef (1:11.35) and
Shane Hubbard (1:13.37).
The 400-meter free showed
Adam Bailey taking first in a 4:38.30 to win by six seconds.
Dan Jackson continued his breaststroke dominance in the 100-meter breaststroke with a 1:08.49. Machristie took second close behind with a 1:09.66 and Cunningham wrapped up his afternoon with a 1:14.08.
The 200-meter free relay showed Degado, Rankin, Bailey, and
Marcus Moreef capturing a close first place with a 1:45.45.
