HAVERFORD, Pa. - Widener Women's Soccer suffered their third loss of the season against the Haverford College Black Squirrels.
The Pride FALL to 1-3 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS
· The Pride had 6 shots (4 on goal). The Black Squirrels had 27 shots (14 on goal)
· Charlotte Burke had two shots on goal.
Tatum Stielow and
Madison Blackshire both had one shot on goal.
· Widener had five corner kicks, compared to Haverford's two.
· In goal,
Nicole Rende made eleven saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
· Haverford started off the game on the offensive. They fired two shots on goal at 3:44 and 3:51 that were both saved by
Nicole Rende.
Tatum Stielow would then attempt a shot at the 6:14 mark, the Black Squirrels saved the shot. The rest of the first half consisted of Haverford attempting to break through the Pride defense but were unsuccessful. The game was at a 0-0 tie going into the half.
· Haverford started off the second half of play by finally breaking through Widener's defense and scoring the first goal of the match at the 50:35 mark. The Black Squirrel's would then strike again with their second goal at 55:21. The Pride's defense was able to settle back in and stop the Haverford offensive until the Black Squirrel's were able to put their third goal of the night on the board at the 70:47 mark. Widener fought until the last minute as
Charlotte Burke put a shot on goal that was saved by the keeper at 87:58.
