CHESTER, Pa. – With their win over Alvernia in the MAC Commonwealth Semifinal, Widener men's basketball is heading to the MAC Commonwealth Championship. They will host the #3 seed Eastern University Eagles on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m.
The Pride are 23-3 (12-2 MAC) on the season. The Eagles are 19-7 (10-4 MAC).
Eastern has had a good season overall, producing a 10-2 record in St. Davids, Pa. and a 7-4 record on the road. They have faced multiple teams that have been ranked in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, including Widener, Hood, and Case Western Reserve.
The Pride swept the season series over Eastern in the regular season. Widener won 100-83 at home and 87-69 on the road.
In the Widener home game against the Eagles,
Dominic Dunn had 22 points, 13 rebounds, and three steals. Despite just three points from
Anthony DiCaro, he added six assists and two steals.
At Eastern, Dunn dropped 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Kevin Schenk nearly had a triple-double with a stat line of nine points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists.
In the all-time series, Widener and Eastern each have three wins. After the Eagles took the first three matchups, beginning in Dec. 2021, Widener has won the last three.
The winner of this game will be heading to the NCAA Tournament, since the conference has automatic qualifiers. The runner-up has a chance for an at-large bid, though. The men's basketball selection show will be on Monday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. on ncaa.com.

Tickets prices are as follows: $8 (adults), $6 (senior citizens 65+), and $6 (youth 7-17). MAC students with ID and children six and under with an adult get in for free.
