HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST YORK
- Robbins hit the first shot for the Pride on a jumper. York would keep things close until a 7-2 run gave Widener a 15-6 advantage. The Pride played good defense, as the Spartans scored seven of their final nine points of the quarter on free throws. The home team only attempted two shots in that stretch. The Spartans ended the first 10 minutes on a 7-0 run, but Widener led 18-15.
- Despite turnovers and missed shots beginning the second quarter for both sides, Robbins halted the streak on a layup. The Pride took care of the lead with multiple trips to the foul line. As the quarter came to a close, Widener hit back-to-back triples, courtesy of Kimberly Casiello and Mary McFillin. The Pride led 34-24 at half.
- Out of the locker room, Widener countered each of York's attempts to begin a comeback. Consecutive three-pointers from D'Ambrosio and Samuels gave the visitors a 13-point lead. Within the final three minutes of the quarter, York went from being down 10 to just three. This was due to multiple free-throw trips by the Spartans. However, the Pride countered with a 7-0 push in the last minute. The score was 55-45 Widener after three.
- York dug into their deficit to open the fourth quarter, hitting two triples in the initial three minutes. Even with that, Robbins and D'Ambrosio made sure that the Pride's lead was safe. Robbins made a shot in the paint, while D'Ambrosio converted more free throws. After a Pride timeout, D'Ambrosio hit consecutive layups to all but end York's chances of winning.
