HAVERFORD, Pa. - Widener Men's Track and Field earns nine MAC qualifying scores and three AARTFC qualifying scores at the McElligott Invite at Haverford College.
Jacob Cappiello showed his speed in the 60-meter dash as he earned his personal best 7.18 seconds, good enough to earn a MAC spot.
Edward Abel was also able to get a new personal best, finishing the 200 meter dash in 27.39 seconds.
Gavin Kelly was another runner able to earn a MAC spot as well as PR today. His 4:35:07 time in the mile secured him the spot. Isiah Brewer, Ethan Ng, and Michael Greene also were able to cement new PRs at the meet.
Both 3000 runners were able to clinch a MAC spot thanks to their impressive performances. Joseph Nescio ran 8:59:04 while Zachary Rementer ran 9:11:17.
In the 4x400 relay, Matayo McGraw, Brion McNear, Josh Schreiner, and Samuel Knowles finished with a time of 3:26:92. This time was fast enough to place them in the AARTFC regional meet.
Aidan Wilson landed a new PR in pole vault as he cleared the 3.35-meter mark.
Matayo McGraw was another Pride athlete to make the MAC meet. His 13.39-meter mark on the triple jump earned him his spot.
For shotput, David Waters was able to qualify for the MAC and Regional meet after throwing 14.52 meters. Alex Stempin also did well, grabbing a personal best of 8.30 meters.
Finally, every Widener contestant in the weight throw was able to qualify for the MAC. Conrad Howell's 15.87m qualified him for MACs and Regionals, while David Waters and John Kodak qualified for the MAC by throwing 13.38 and 11.56 respectively.

The Pride will travel to Alvernia University to take on the Plex Shootout. The event starts Saturday, February 3.
