BY THE NUMBERS

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ALVERNIA
- Although the scoring was slow for both sides initially, Alvernia started the game with a 6-0 run. A Gianna Samuels' triple cut into the deficit. This was the beginning of a 10-0 answer from Widener. For a while, the Golden Wolves held a lead before a Mia Robbins' layup gave the Pride a one-point lead. In the final 30 seconds, both teams exchanged buckets. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 24-21 Widener.
- The Pride would get their first score of the second quarter from Robbins at 9:16. Even though Widener tried to build momentum, the Golden Wolves would tie it up at 30 halfway through the quarter. Triples by Lia Samuels and Mary McFillin, however, kept the Pride ahead. Within the last 90 seconds of the quarter, a 9-3 Widener push would separate the two teams by nearly double digits. Gianna and Lia Samuels were instrumental in that stretch. After the first half, the Pride led 47-39.
- Coming out of the locker room, the Golden Wolves bounced back with an 11-4 run to bring the score to 51-50. D'Ambrosio and Lindsay Kutz each converted an and-one in the span of about two minutes to put the Pride back in a five-point advantage. But, Alvernia used a quick 5-0 outburst at the end of the third to lead 62-61.
- Two three-pointers by McFillin gave Widener the lead in the early stages of the fourth quarter. D'Ambrosio continued her attack on the Golden Wolves' defense, scoring eight points in the quarter. Her triple at 1:47 put the Pride up by 12, which was essentially the dagger. Alvernia added a few more points at the end, but it was not enough to overcome. Widener won 82-71.
