SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Widener men's track and field throwers come home with two golds and conclude with top ranking national marks ahead of selection weekend at the AARTFC Championships.
DAY 2
Opening the second day of the meet was
Alex Kristeller,
Alden Littlefield,
Justin Adams, and
Conrad Howell in the hammer throw. In six throws, Kristeller walked away with a new AARTFC Championship meet record and Susquehanna University facility record with a 62.84-meter throw. Kristller bettered his own meet record from last year's 62.39-meter mark. Littlefield's best mark of the day was set on his final throw with a 57.55-meter mark. Adams marked a 55.88-meter throw on his fourth attempt to place him just behind Dylan Perlino of Alfred State. Howell set a new personal best with a 52.54-meter throw.
Currently Kristeller ranks first in the nation with a 64.77-meter mark. Littlefield sits at 11
th with a 58.91-meter mark and Adams ranks 21
st with a 57.88-meter mark.
A few events later, Littlefield took to the circle in the shot put where he marked a 17.13-meter throw and a first place. Littlefield just missed the facility record by 0.04-meters.
David Waters would also throw three marks. On his final attempt, Waters hit a 14.37-meter mark.
Currently Littlefield ranks in the nation from the MAC Championships earlier this month. His mark of 17.23-meters sits him at fifth heading into selection weekend.
Samuel Knowles was the sole runner for the Pride. Knowles competed in the 200-meter dash where he clocked a 21.95 and fourth place. Knowles would be 0.37 seconds shy of a personal best.
