CHESTER, Pa. – Ever since 1987, Student-Athlete Appreciation Day falls on April 6. Widener University Athletics is honoring its student-athletes who make up the Pride.

According to the Institute for Sport and Social Justice, this day "…was designed to honor the outstanding achievements of high school and college student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics, while having made significant contributions to their schools and communities."

This past Monday, Widener had food trucks next to the Schwartz Center for the student-athletes, including Zac's Burgers in conjunction with the WALI Pickleball Tournament.

Widener Athletics is comprised of a total of 25 varsity sports.
