NEWTOWN, Pa. - The conference office has announced the winter Academic All-MAC selections with Widener grabbing five for the 2025-26 season.
The Pride's five were
Myles Bright (MBB),
Lindsay Kutz (WBB), Jack Csensits (MTF),
Gabby Nye (WTF), and
Sean Lehan (MSWIM).
Voted on by the MAC's sports information directors, the Academic All-MAC award recognizes student-athletes for both athletic and academic excellence, with each counting for 50%. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a fall semester GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Senior guard
Myles Bright earned his spot on the Academic All-MAC squad after being named to All-Conference Second Team honors after a breakout season. Bright started in all 25 games and averaged a staggering 19.5 points per game which led the Pride. He maintained solid all-around shooting numbers with shooting .437 from the field and .335 from deep. He also added on 65 assists, 27 steals, and 102 rebounds. Following his season successes, Bright was also named CSC Academic All-District and COBL All-Area Second Team.
Women's Basketball placed
Lindsay Kutz, the Defensive Player of the Year, onto the team for the first time in her career. The senior led the Pride to its sixth straight MAC Commonwealth Championship game while also earning All-MAC First Team recognition after a dominant all-around season. Kutz started all 27 games, averaging a team-best 13.4 points per game while shooting 44.4% from the field and a team-leading 33.8% from three-point range. She led the Pride in rebounding, averaging 8.3 boards per game (223 total), and tied for first on the team in blocks with 16. Kutz also added 57 steals and 83 assists, anchoring Widener on both ends of the floor.
First year Jack Csensits from Men's Track and Field would take home Rookie of the Year following his success at conference championships. Csensits captured first team all-conference in the long jump with a mark of 7.10-meters while also showing a personal best 6.98 in the 60-meter dash and a mark of 1.68-meters in the high jump.
A familiar face to the postseason awards listing is
Gabby Nye from Women's Track and Field. Nye would return to Chester with two championship records in the mile and 3000-meter at conference championships. Nye went on to qualify for NCAA Championships where she returned as a two-time Second Team All-American. The Shippensburg, Pa. native wrapped up her indoor season as Runner of the Year and a two-time first team all-conference runner.
Sean Lehan of Men's Swimming earned his second Academic All-MAC this year after his performances at MAC Championships in February. Lehan would defend his conference title in the 500-yard free while also snagging two second team all-conference awards in the 200-yard free and 1650-yard free. The Harrisburg, Pa. native would also be apart of the third team all-conference 800-yard free relay squad and pick up his first CSC Academic All-District award this spring.
