NEWTOWN, Pa. - The conference office has announced the spring Academic All-MAC selections with Widener taking three for the 2025-26 season.
The Pride's three were
Kevin Bukowski (BSB),
Nicholas Knepp (MLAX), and
Gabby Nye (WTF).
Voted on by the MAC's sports information directors, the Academic All-MAC award recognizes student-athletes for both athletic and academic excellence, with each counting for 50%. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a fall semester GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Baseball junior
Kevin Bukowski headlined Widener this season as an ABCA All-Region member, a CSC Academic All-District selection, and MAC Commonwealth First Team All-Conference selections after a historic 2026 campaign. Bukowski started 42 of 43 games played where he had a batting average of .354, an OPS of 1.198, tallied 52 hits, nine doubles, and three triples. He would also tie two single season records, finishing with 52 RBIs and 15 home runs.
Men's lacrosse senior
Nicholas Knepp wrapped up his career earning USILA Scholar All-American for the first time in his career, and a MAC Commonwealth Second Team All-Conference selection. Knepp joined five others this season on the CSC Academic All-District At Large listing after his season successes. Knepp appeared in 15 games, making four starts, and totaled 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points to lead the team in assists. He added 20 ground balls and nine caused turnovers, contributing on both ends of the field. Knepp recorded multiple multi-point performances throughout the season, including a season-high five points on three goals and two assists in a tight contest against Hood, along with a five-point outing against York (Pa.) behind two goals and three assists. He also tallied four points in a win over Gwynedd Mercy early in the season.
Gabby Nye's outdoor season was one for the books. Nye would qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships for her third straight year. Nye picked up the NCAA Elite Scholar Athlete distinction, marking the first in Widener history, and earned two First Team All-American statuses in two events at NCAA Championships in the steeplechase and 5000-meter. At conference championships, the Shippensburg, Pa. native earned two First Team All-Conference times while also downing the championship record in the 5000-meter.
