NEW YORK - Widener Executive Director of Athletics Crystal Gibson was welcomed to The Collegiate Women Sports Awards, presented by Honda as one of four new board of directors as announced by CWSA Executive Director Noreen Morris.

"I am truly honored to join the CWSA board and work alongside leaders who are committed to elevating the voices, achievements, and impact of women in collegiate athletics," said Gibson. "I am incredibly excited about the opportunity to continue celebrating the remarkable accomplishments, leadership, and impact of student-athletes."

GIbson will serve as the DIII Representative of the new four. Joining Gibson is Kim Durand as the Big 10 Representative, Jim Phillips as the Commissioner Representative, and Julie Work as the NACDA Representative. Gibson joined Widener earlier this year and takes over the Pride's 23 NCAA Division III programs. She joins the Blue and Gold after her stint at St. Mary's College of Maryland as their Director of Athletics and Recreation. 

About the Collegiate Women Sports Awards
The Collegiate Women Sports Award was founded in 1976 and honors the nation's top NCAA women athletes in athletic performance, leadership, academic achievement, and community service. For 51 years, the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) has celebrated "the best of the best of collegiate athletics." The program annually honors the nation's top NCAA women student-athletes through 12 Honda Sport Awards, the Division II and Division III Athlete of the Year awards and the Honda Inspiration Award, culminating with the presentation of the Honda Cup to the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. Since 1986, Honda has proudly served as the presenting sponsor, creating one of the longest-running corporate partnerships in women's collegiate athletics.
