HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST NEUMANN
- The game was close early on, as neither team gave the other a chance to get ahead. Robbins and D'Ambrosio made a few shots in that span until Lia Samuels hit the team's first triple of the night to go up 15-10. The Knights kept things close by scoring a layup with 1:36 left. Both sides missed shots at the end of the first 10 minutes, leading to Widener holding a 17-15 advantage.
- Robbins began the second quarter with a jump shot. The Pride's 7-2 run in the early stages of this quarter put them up 24-17. Another Robbins bucket and an and-one by D'Ambrosio increased the lead to 10. Despite both sides taking turns at making shots, the Knights slowly made up ground in their deficit. The Pride had a 38-32 lead at the half.
- Through the first parts of the third quarter, the Pride and Knights turned to their defenses to make plays. There were three combined buckets in the opening four minutes. Neumann utilized a 6-2 run to get their deficit to just four points. However, in the third, Lauren Klieber of Neumann heated up. She hit back-to-back threes to put her team in a position to take the lead. Widener would answer with two free throws from D'Ambrosio. After three, the score was 52-46 Widener.
- No one had a clear advantage as the fourth quarter began. Klieber continued to carry the Neumann offense on the way to her 29 points. The Pride would call timeout when their lead was trimmed to one. Out of the timeout, the Pride used a 10-0 run to pull away for good. Even with a few more made shots, the Knights would never recover. The Pride won 71-63.
