CHESTER, Pa. – Stefano Turano and
Andrew Hurrell each knocked in a goal to help the Widener University men's soccer team earn a 2-1 win against Keystone on Tuesday night at Elizabeth J. Hirschmann Field at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium.
This victory got the Pride back at the .500 mark at 4-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST KEYSTONE
- The Pride dominated most of the possession got on the scoreboard first in the 20th minute, as Turano came off the bench and scored his goal after the ball hit the top of the crossbar and crossed the goal line. The Pride took that 1-0 lead into halftime.
- In the second half, the Pride earned a penalty-kick try after Keystone committed a foul inside the scoring box. Hurrell went on to bury the PK into the back right corner of the net to make it a 2-0 Pride lead in the 65th minute.
- The Pride dominated the offensive possession for the majority of the game, as they outshot the Giants, 18-5. The Pride's 18 shots were the second-most shots they had taken in a game this season.
- The Pride had Kyle Stone and Andrew Garofalo in net, with Stone producing a clean sheet in the first half and Garofalo making two saves in the second half.

Widener will be back in action on Saturday when it travels to face York in its first MAC Commonwealth match of the season. Kickoff for that game is at 3 p.m.
