GRANTHAM, Pa. –
Connor Heisman fired in a career-high eight goals while leading the Widener men's lacrosse team to a 16-8 victory over Messiah on Saturday afternoon at Messiah University.
With the win, the Pride improved to 4-6 on the season and 2-1 in MAC Commonwealth play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST MESSIAH
- Heisman had himself a day, scoring three goals in the first half and all five goals for the Pride in the second half. The senior, whose previous career high for goals was six, had two goals during the Pride's seven-goal second quarter to take an 11-5 lead at halftime. The senior attack now has 24 games with three or more goals in his career.
- Jayce after also had a hat trick in the win. The junior midfielder tallied his third career game with three goals or more.
- Michael Tagliaferri added two goals and two assists for Widener in the win. Jimmy Knepp and Zach Politarhos handed out two assists.
- Defensively, Keegan Billie made six saves in the win. Oldrati paced the Pride with 10 ground balls and won 16-of-25 face-offs.
