CHESTER, Pa.- The Widener men's volleyball team battled hard against Elizabethtown but came up short in its attempt to win its second match in a row, losing in straight sets to the Blue Jays, 25-9, 25-21, 25-19, on Wednesday night at Schwartz Athletic Center.
With the loss, the Pride dropped to 2-4 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ELIZABETHTOWN
- The Pride's lone bright spots on the night occurred in the second set. The Pride never let Elizabethtown's lead get to more than eight points and trimmed it down to three points three times (16-13, 22-19, and 24-21) before the Blue Jays came away with the win in the game and eventually the match.
- Matthew Christ led the Blue and Gold in kills with eight for the night. Dylan Beer and Nick Poulson both had four kills.
- Josh Matchett tallied 18 assists for the Pride offense.
- Defensively, libero Cole Nagle had nine digs for the Pride.

The Pride return to Schwartz Athletic Center on Thursday night as they host Immaculata University. First serve is at 8 p.m.
