CHESTER, Pa. – Bryan Gaviria scored a goal in the second half to help the Widener men's soccer team forge a 1-1 tie with Arcadia on Tuesday night on the road.
The tie extended the Pride's unbeaten streak to five matches in a row (3-0-2). It also helped them improve to 6-4-2 overall this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
- After a scoreless first half, the Pride gave up a goal to Arcadia 13 seconds into the second half to fall into a 1-0 deficit.
- However, Gaviria got the Pride back into the game five minutes later after scoring his second goal of the season on a header off a pass from Ryan Toporowski
- Following Gaviria's goal, the Pride kept attacking Arcadia on the offensive end, as it took six of their nine shots in the second half over the remaining 40 minutes. The Pride outshot Arcadia, 13-4, in the contest and took eight shots on goal.
- Sean Fatiga led the Pride with three shots, two of which were on goal.
- Kyle Stone and Andrew Garofalo split goalkeeping duties for the Pride. Stone made two saves in the second half, while Garofalo had one save in the first half.
