NEWTOWN, Pa. - Widener Men's Soccer earned a sixth-place selection in the MAC Commonwealth Coaches' Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday (Aug. 18).
In the poll, Widener received 28 points, placing the Pride between Hood with 34 points and Alvernia with 24 points. Messiah claimed the top spot with 62 points and seven first-place votes, followed closely by York with 55 points and one first-place vote.
The Pride posted a 2-9-6 overall record in 2025, including a 1-2-4 record in MAC Commonwealth play, and did not qualify for the conference playoffs.
The 2026 season is set to get underway on September 1, when the Pride travel to Glenside, Pa., to take on Arcadia University. Widener will host its home opener on September 4 and 5 at the newly renovated Hirschmann Field as part of the Delco Classic. The Pride will face Washington College at 7 p.m. on September 4 before taking on Regent University at 7 p.m. on September 5.
