ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Widener men's basketball team came back from a three-point deficit in the second half to top Lebanon Valley, 61-55, on Sunday afternoon in its MAC Commonwealth contest at Lebanon Valley.
With the win, the Pride improved to 8-11 overall and 3-8 in MAC Commonwealth play.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST LEBANON VALLEY
- Trailing, 43-40, with 10:56 left in the game, the Pride went on an 9-0 run to take a 49-43 lead that they would not relinquish. Jared Peters led the Pride's comeback by scoring five of his 11 second-half points during that run.
- Peters finished with a team-high 13 points. By doing so, he moved into 25th-place on Widener's all-time scoring list with 1,060 career points.
- Along with Peters, Kenny Lewis and Pat Holden scored 12 points apiece to highlight the Pride's double-digit scorers.
- The Pride took advantage of the Dutchmen when it came to turnovers, as they scored 24 points off their miscues.
- The Blue and Gold also won the hustle categories, outscoring LVC in second-chance points, 10-6, and fast break points, 6-2.
