RADNOR, Pa. –
Mia Ruggiero had a hand in winning four events while leading the Widener women's swimming team to a 205-51 win over Cedar Crest and a 162-94 win over Cabrini on Saturday in a tri-meet at Cabrini University.
A first-year swimmer, Ruggiero won the 100-yard butterfly and 50 freestyle while helping the 200 free relay team and 200 medley relay each earn victories. Ruggiero won the 100 fly in a time of 1:01.22 and touched the wall first in the 50 free in 25.81. Ruggiero's time in the 100 fly was good for the fifth-best time among MAC swimmers this season.
In the 200 free relay, Ruggerio,
Lauren Kalsbeek,
Azaria Luckey, and
Olivia Downs combined for a time of 1:45.97 to win the event. In the 200 medley relay, Ruggiero, Downs,
Emma Reistle and
Angelina Franceschini combined for a time of 1:57.43 to claim the victory.
Widener also saw strong performances from Kalsbeek and Reistle, who each had a hand in winning three events.
A first-year swimmer, Kalsbeek won the 100-yard freestyle and 200 free in addition to being a part the winning 200 free relay team. The Redding, Calif. native won the 100 free in a time of 56.75 and touched the wall first in the 200 free in 2:02.38. Kalsbeek's time in the 200 free was good for the seventh-best time in the MAC this season.
A senior, Reistle took the top spot in the 100 backstroke and 200 back while also assisting the 200 medley relay to its win. The Mickleton, N.J. native won the 100 back in 1:04.22 and finished first in the 200 back in 2:22.19.
The Pride also saw Franceschini win the 200 fly in the meet. Franceschini touched the wall first in 2:22.62.
Widener also received top-three finishes in the meet from

Anna Durboraw (second in 200 individual medley and third in 200 breast),
Ana Konyak (second in 200 breaststroke and third in 100 breast),

Caitlin Blaum (second in 100 breast),
Gina Mecca (second in 100 fly), Luckey (third in 50 free), and Downs (third in 100 free).
