In accordance with the Middle Atlantic Conference decision to permit individual universities to make decisions regarding fan attendance during the fall semester, Widener University is implementing the following policy:

Spectators will be welcome to watch Widener athletic teams compete on Main Campus.

Beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021 the policy for all Main Campus athletic competition and scrimmages includes the following:

WIDENER OUTDOOR EVENTS

• Spectators will be permitted to attend outdoor events
  • Spectators will be permitted to be unmasked for outdoor events (this policy is subject to change as conditions require and CDC guidelines change).
  • Spectators must be masked when visiting indoor facilities for restrooms or other purposes.

WIDENER INDOOR EVENTS

• Spectators will be permitted to attend indoor events
  • ALL spectators must be masked at all times for indoor events.

Failure to comply with these policies will result in removal from the competition site.

Facilities will open one hour prior to game time by a Widener or campus safety staff member.

MAC POLICY:

Masking requirements may be imposed by a host institution based on institutional policy. Institutions will have autonomy to develop more stringent masking policies and may require visitors to follow campus policies that are more stringent than the standards outlined above.

MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

MAC championships will follow the spectator policy of the host institution. For MAC championship events without a host institution, the MAC office will develop a spectator policy in consultation with the facility and local health department.
