CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's track and field team competed in day two of the MAC Championships on Friday.
 
In the 800 meter preliminaries, Maia Semmes took the top spot in the first heat with a time of 2:20.25, earning the second seed in tomorrow's finals.
 
Theresa Kervick took bronze in the heptathlon with a combined 3313 points through the seven events. Anna Cooney grabbed a sixth place finish in the discus, recording a distance of 35.28 meters.
 
Emily Cooney placed sixth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 12:41.00.
 
Widener returns to action tomorrow at noon for the third and final day of the MAC Championships.
