CHESTER, Pa. – For the first time since 2012, and just the third time in program history, the Widener University women's soccer team scored double-digit goals in a match. The Pride took down Penn State Brandywine 10-2 on Wednesday night.
Highlights
How it happened
The Pride was awarded a corner four minutes into the contest. Slusher took it and found Polon, who volleyed the ball past the Nittany Lion keeper. Penn State Brandywine evened the score three minutes later, but that was the closest the game would be for the remainder of the night. Five unanswered goals from the Pride to close out the half created an insurmountable deficit for the opposition.
Nearly a minute and a half after the intermission,
Hannah Berard played a beautiful cross into the box for Abrams who buried the shot. It was Berard's second assist of the contest. Fenton scored the Pride's final two goals of the night, receiving assists from
Natalie Worth and
Kimmy Lyons.
