CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking loss on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Lycoming Warriors on a last-second heave to cement a final score of 66-65.
The last shot of the game gave Lycoming its only lead of the afternoon. Widener held off the Warriors early, entering the intermission with a two-point advantage. The Pride outscored Lycoming by five in the third quarter to take a seven-point margin into the fourth. Lycoming's offense exploded in the final 10 minutes, scoring 24 points. Despite the high-volume scoring, Widener still had a two-point lead with five seconds remaining, thanks to a pair of
Devan Rimmer free-throws. On the next possession, Lycoming launched a three-pointer from nearly 25 feet, sinking the basket with 0.9 seconds left on the clock. Widener was unable to get a good look on the final play.

- Madison Ireland matched a career-high in assists, recording 11 for the third time this year.
- Erin Phelan registered her second 20+ point performance of her young collegiate career. The freshman finished with 21.
- Devan Rimmer had 19 points and led the team in steals with two.
- Mackenzie McCracken stuffed the stat sheet. She had 12 points, seven boards, and three assists.
- Kyra Schenk grabbed seven important rebounds off the bench in her 14 minutes of playing time.
- WU outrebounded Lycoming 36-34.
- The defense created 18 turnovers.
- The Blue and Gold shot 75 percent from the line, hitting nine out of 12.
