Women's Basketball Cruises, 80-63, Past Rowan

Widener won its second straight contest with an 80-63 demolishing of Rowan on Saturday afternoon in Glassboro, NJ.

Widener (5-3) built a 15-point lead nine minutes into the matchup and never receded. The Pride shot 45.7 percent from the field, 47.1 percent from beyond the arc and went a perfect 8-for-8 from the line.

Senior forward Jen Egee (Ridley Park, PA) bested her career high in points for the third straight game, this time netting 31 points by going 13-of-21 from the field and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Egee leads the conference with 21.8 points per game and 25 three-pointers. In her career, Egee has recorded 185 three-pointers to place her 10th in Middle Atlantic Conference history.

Also with a career day, sophomore Brianna Wylie (Mount Laurel, NJ) notched a personal-best 12 rebounds. Contributing on both sides of the court, Wylie scored eight points, dished out four assists, blocked one shot and recorded one steal.

Junior guard Kristina Reiter (Sewell, NJ) scored 11 points by going 3-of-5 from beyond the arc and defensively added seven rebounds and one steal. Fellow junior Courtney Colella (Cinnaminson, NJ) scored eight points and pulled down four rebounds.

Adapting to her new job as the starting point guard, freshman Leilani Beckham (Aldan, PA) dished a team-high five assists to go along with her six points and four rebounds.

Entering off the bench, freshman Aly Furgiuele (Norwalk, CT) did not miss a shot as she went 2-of-2 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the line for six points, one rebound and one block.

Kate Matthews and Kaitlin Schullstrom each netted 13 points for the Profs (2-6).

The Pride will leave for Puerto Rico in a couple days and will next compete on Wednesday at the Puerto Rico Holiday Tournament against Albion at 4:00 pm ET.
