Scott Bissett is in second season as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team at Widener University. He assists head coach Todd Wawrousek with all aspects of the program.
A native of Dundee, Scotland, Bissett began his coaching career at the age of 17 and has been involved in grass roots, club, higher academy and has also mentored athletes in the Scottish Football Association over the years. In addition, he served as an assistant men’s soccer coach at Shorter University and helped the program finish with an unblemished home record and advance to the NCCAA national semifinals. Bissett served as the director of recreation soccer at North Georgia United and more recently began working with Penn Fusion in West Chester.
Aside from coaching, Bissett has played soccer at every level in Scotland. He played at the academy level for Dundee United FC and then moved to playing at the amateur and semi pro levels before spending his final year of eligibility at Shorter University.
Bissett, who is a Level 3 certified coach, earned a higher national certificate (HNC) in sports coaching and management, an honors degree in sport and psychology from Abertay University in Scotland and a master’s degree from Shorter University.
