Widener University Athletics

Robert McHugh is his second season as a graduate assistant after competing three seasons as Widener’s punter. As a senior, he was tabbed first team All-MAC by averaging 37.6 yards per punt, placing 28 inside the 20 yard line -- tied for first in Division III -- and 10 inside the five yard line. McHugh was named second team CoSIDA Academic All-District and a member of the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team two consecutive seasons. He also was a three-year member of the MAC Academic Honor Roll and a 2008 scholar-athlete honoree by the National Football Foundation. He earned a BA in Criminal Justice in 2007, graduating cum laude with a 3.756 GPA. McHugh was on the Dean’s List each semester and received the Patricia Blair Award for most outstanding student majoring in Criminal Justice. He his going for his Master’s in the same field.
