Mike Guille

Mike Guille is in his 19th season as a part of Widener’s football program. Guille brings an extensive resume to the table, having helped Widener to six Middle Atlantic Conference titles, five NCAA Tournament appearances and three ECAC Bowls. He served as linebacker coach from 1992-93, moved to the defensive line in 1994, went back to the linebackers in 1998 and served the last three years as a full-time defensive assistant. A 2002 inductee into the Delaware County chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame, Guille amassed a 68-31-2 record in 10 seasons as head coach at Penn Wood HS (1982-91). He was picked Delaware County Daily Times Coach of the Year in 1985 and News of Delaware County Coach of the Year in 1984, 1985 and 1987. Guille also served as head coach at Darby-Colwyn HS from 1980-81 before a merger created Penn Wood HS. He was an assistant coach at Darby-Colwyn from 1973-79 and served as defensive coordinator at the Hero Bowl (DelCo All-Star Game) from 1980-88. A graduate of Monsignor Bonner HS where he was a member of the 1968 championship team, Guille in 2008 was inducted into the school’s athletics Hall of Fame. He attended West Chester University and was on three title squads, earning his B.S. in Health and Physical Education and M. Ed. from WCU in Health and Phys. Ed. Guille worked 34 years in the William Penn School District for the Health and Physical Education Department, including 30 years as department chair. Guille and his wife, Anita, have five children, Mike Jr., Chris, Andrew, Colleen and Brittney -- all of which attended Widener. The Guille’s reside in Springfield, PA and have one grandchild, Jacklyn Angela, 3.
