John Amendt

John Amendt is in his sixth season as cornerbacks coach. In 2007, he helped Orlando Brown to be named Honorable Mention All-America and first team All-MAC. Amendt spent 11 years with Penn’s Sprint Lightweight team, leading it to three league titles. In that span, he was defensive coordinator for nine years and also coached the linebackers and punt teams. His 2000 defense helped Penn to an undefeated season and wins over Army and Navy. He also was the tight ends and running backs coach at West Chester, coaching two All-Americas. At the high school level, he was the head coach at Roman Catholic High School where Marvin Harrison of the Indianapolis Colts was on his freshmen team. Amendt also was coach of the Upper Darby Sharks (semi-pro), making the playoffs twice in three years. He also coach St. Barnabas’ CYO and was an assistant at West Catholic HS and Mastbaum HS in Philadelphia. A graduate of West Catholic, he played on the 1965 city championship team before earning a BA at Eastern College. He is president and owner of A. Amendt Pest Control in Glenolden. Amendt is married to Linda and he has two children, Alisha and John 3rd.
