Widener University Athletics

Bob Kenig is in his second year as Widener’s defensive consultant and 11th overall with the squad. Kenig also served as an assistant for Widener from 1979-80, 1988-91 and 1994-96. He also was the defensive coordinator for Delaware Valley from 1992-93 and La Salle from 1997-99. Kenig was the head coach at Marple Newtown HS from 1974-78 and again from 1981-87, being named Delaware County Coach of the Year in 1977. Kenig enters after a two-year stint as assistant coach at Lower Cape May Regional HS and two years as head coach at Wildwood HS (2003-04). He was a teacher at Marple Newtown from 1969-2003 in Business Education, English, Grammar Lab and Micro-Technology. He has authored six publications on coaching from 1982-2000. Kenig graduated Drexel in 1969 with a BS in Business Administration. He has taken graduate classes at Penn State, Villanova and Widener.
