Bill Zwaan is in second season on Widener’s staff, serving as its recruiting and academic coordinator one year after being its quarterbacks coach. Zwaan in 2008 coached at Lycoming, helping the squad win the Middle Atlantic Conference title and compete in the NCAA Tournament. Zwaan played a key role in the Warriors ending third in the league in total offense and quarterback Colin Dwyer being named second team All-MAC. Zwaan also was a volunteer quarterback coach in the spring of 2008 for West Chester University and helped at the squad’s annual camp. He enjoyed a highly successful run as quarterback for West Chester, being named first team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in 2007 and second team all-league in 2006. Zwaan was named the Maxwell Club Local College Player of the Year and the Bert Bell Local MVP in 2007. He graduated WCU in 2008 with a B.A. in History. He is the son of Bill Zwaan, Widener’s former football coach and athletic director who compiled a 54-14 mark from 1997-2002, leading the squad to three MAC crowns, two NCAA Tournament berths and a trip to the 2000 national semifinals.
