NEWTOWN, Pa. - Widener Football landed in seventh place in the MAC Commonwealth Coaches' Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office on Thursday (Aug. 20).
In the poll, Widener received 31 points, placing the Pride between King's with 48 points and Albright with 27 points. Eastern secured the top spot with 81 points and nine first-place votes, while Delaware Valley followed in second with 66 points.
The Pride finished the 2025 season with a 4-6 overall record and a 3-6 mark in MAC Commonwealth play, missing out on a spot in the conference playoffs.
The 2026 season is set to begin in just over two weeks on September 5, with the Pride traveling to Geneva for a 3 p.m. kickoff. Widener will host its home opener on the newly renovated Hirschmann Field on September 12, against Alvernia at 1 p.m.
