NEWTOWN, Pa. - Widener Field Hockey was selected fifth in the MAC Commonwealth Coaches' Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday (Aug. 19).

In the poll, Widener received 36 points, placing the Pride between Hood with 38 points and Alvernia with 32 points. Stevenson secured the top spot with 61 points and six first-place votes, while York and Messiah tied for second with 55 points each. York received two first-place votes, while Messiah earned one.

The Pride finished the 2025 season with a 10-7 overall record and a 3-4 mark in MAC Commonwealth play, missing a spot in the conference playoffs.

The 2026 season will begin on September 2, with the Pride hosting Elizabethtown at 7 p.m. on the newly renovated Dixon Field.
