Women’s Soccer Lose Tightly Contested Match Against Ursinus

CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Women's Soccer unable to overcome second half deficit in loss to the Ursinus College Bears.

The Pride are now 2-2-0 on the season and 0-0 in conference play.

BY THE NUMBERS

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Widener looked ready to go in the early portion of this game as Tatum Stielow put a shot on goal only 45 seconds into the game, but the Ursinus keeper was able to make the save. The Pride would continue to apply pressure, attempting five more shots within the first 15 minutes but were unable to find the back of the net. The Ursinus offense was unable to get anything going in the first half, only attempting five shots in the first. The game would go into the half tied 0-0.
  • The Pride once again came out strong in the second half, taking the ball into Ursinus territory and attempting a shot but once again were unable to connect. The Bears found their footing at the 65:02 mark, scoring the first goal of the game and taking a 1-0 lead. Widener was unable to recover and would ultimately lose a tightly contested 1-0 battle.
