PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Widener Men's Track and Field's
Tom Flear dominates the Ott Center facility record to open the Widener Indoor Classic.
FRIDAY – SHOT PUT & WEIGHT THROW AT WIDENER
Isaac Almoney's shot put attempt of 13.46-meters would mark a new personal best.
David Fuhrman threw a 12.99-meter distance.
In the weight throw, Almoney took second overall with a 16.71-meter distance.
John Kodack marked a 14.01-meter distance.
SATURDAY – TRACK AND JUMPS AT THE OTT CENTER
The running events commenced with the men's 5000-meter run that would feature Flear and
Zach Rementer. Flear would run a 14:45.65 to win by 0.01, move into 76
th in the nation before all results come in, and shatter the Ott Center facility record. Rementer clocked in a 15:16.90 to set a new personal best.
Gavin Kelly would set a new personal best in the mile as he would run in a 4:31.88.
In the 400-meter dash, Sam Knowles would see a new personal best 48.04. Knowles would move up in the nation rankings to 15
th overall to take first in the race.
A 1:58.94 from
David Johnson showcased a new personal best to place 21
st overall.
Knowles competition continued in the 200-meter dash with a final time of 21.94, a new personal best and a 66
th place in the nation.
Joe Nescio ran in a personal best 8:44.06 in the 3000-meter run.
The pole vault showed
Brennan Pringle with a mark of 3.95-meters and
Alexander Szymanik with a mark of 3.80-meters for new personal bests.
Tyler Ressler jumped a distance of 6.34-meters while
Jacob Grossman jumped to a 6.19-meter distance.
Matayo McGraw saw a new season best and 15
th in the nation mark in the triple jump. McGraw marked a 14.32-meter distance.
