CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Swimming celebrated two seniors in a nail bitter against Washington College.
The 110-95 loss moves the Pride to 2-5 in the regular season with a 2-2 record in conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride splashed off senior day with a first in the 200-yard medley relay.
Caroline Anderson,
Bella Fanelli,
Kaitlyn Fahy, and Shelby Devose took first with a 2:00.28.
Kaitlyn Beden split the Shorewomen in the 1000-yard free with a 12:29.83. Fahy would take fourth with a 12:55.74.
Megan Shallow threw down a seven second win in the 200-yard free with a 2:00.31.
Olivia Giambalvo took third with a 2:09.98.
Hailey Webster took a win by 0.08 seconds in the 50-yard free with a 26.62 while Shallow hit the wall in 26.87.
Tyla Block's 200-yard individual medley took second with a 2:25.41.
Fahy's second individual event of the afternoon showed a third in the 100-yard butterfly where she touched with a 1:09.59.
Shallow took first in the 100-yard free as she won by two seconds with a 56.14.
In the 100-yard backstroke, Anderson took second after splitting the Shorewomen's points with a 1:05.15.
Giambalvo transitioned to distance in the 500-yard free with a third-place finish and a final time of 5:57.37.
Hailey Webster led a 3-4-5-6 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke as Webster hit in a 1:13.67.
Emily Thompson (1:14.86), Fanelli (1:15.69), and
Juliana Church (1:27.86) all followed.
The final race of the afternoon, a must split event, showed a 2-3-4 finish with Devose, Liv Wainstein,
Caileigh Foveaux, and Webster leading the group with a 1:49.78.
