Knowles Moves Into Top 10 in the Nation at Widener’s Winter Evening Invite

PHILADELPHIA – Personal and season bests highlight Widener Men's Track and Field Winter Evening Invite at The Ott Center.
 
The men's 60-meter dash would produce two Pride runners putting up times. Tyler Ressler would lead with a 7.26 to mark a new personal best. Edward Abel would clock in a 7.78.
 
Tristen Silverstein would run a 9.47 in the men's 60-meter hurdles.
 
A 4:33.48 from Gavin Kelly in the mile would show a 22nd place finish. Kelly's time would be a personal best by two seconds.
 
Sam Knowles dominated the men's 400-meter dash with a 48.37 to win by over a second. Knowles' would see a new season best and move into 7th in the nation before all the weekend meets come in. First year Elijah Celestin saw a personal best in his 400 with a 52.38.
 
Two would run personal bests in the 800-meter with Daniel Murphy leading with a 2:04.24. Ashton Ray finished four places down with a 2:05.91 for another best.
 
Reesler led the Pride in the 200-meter dash with a 22.91 to take 19th overall. Jonathan David ran in a 23.91. Silverstein and Troy Wallace would round out the pack with a 24.60 and 24.68 respectively. 
 
Sean Gizzi led the Pride in the pole vault with his 3.95-meter jump. Aidan Wilson would see a season best with a 3.80-meter jump and Alexander Szymanik would capture a personal best with a 3.80-meter height.
 
In the long jump, Reesler would place 11th overall with a 6.22-meter jump. Matayo McGraw and Troy Walace saw marks of 5.80-meters and 5.76-meters respectively. 
 
McGraw returned to the field competition in the triple jump with a 6th place finish overall after his first 13.83-meter jump. McGraw would also see a 9th place finish in the high jump. His mark of 1.88-meters would show a new season best. Jacob Grossman saw a 1.78-meter distance, marking a new season best as well. 

Saturday's shot put would see back-to-back finishes from Isaac Almoney and David Fuhrman. Almoney threw a 13.17-meter toss and Fuhrmann threw a 13.07-meter distance. Almoney would win the weight throw with a new personal best 16.82-meter distance. John Kodack (14.65m) continued trend along with Fuhrman (13.20m), Jaron Tate (12.99m), and Jet Li Tang (12.48m).
