LEWISBURG, Pa. – Two days of racing display top times in the nation for Widener Women's Track and Field at the Bison Outdoor Classic.
SATURDAY
Gabby Nye showed her distance strengths with a 17:23.53 in the 5000-meter invitational race. Nye averaged 1:23 on each of her 400s to place 31
st out of 65 and shatter her personal best by almost 20 seconds. Her time puts her in the top 50 in the nation, first in conference standings by over 20 seconds, and first in Widener history by 30 seconds.
SUNDAY
Maria Muzzarelli took to the track in the 100 and 200-meter dash. In the 100-meter, she placed 11
th overall out of 88 with a final time of 12.14. Her new time would a new personal best, take over the top time in the conference, and move her into the top 30 in the nation.
In the 200-meter dash, Muzzarelli clocked in at a 25.38 and 20
th out of 121 competitors. Muzzarelli's time puts her just outside of the top 50 in the nation and second in the conference.
