Men's Track and Field Split Team In Opening Weekend of Competition

BETHLEHEM, Pa. & NEW YORK, N.Y. – Knowles and Widener Men's Track boast first in a non-traditional distance in a split team weekend.
 
LEHIGH FAST TIMES BEFORE FINALS
 
A first year pack took on the pole vault and shot put at the Lehigh Fast Times Before Finals meet. The Pride would have Aidan Wilson showing the pack in the pole vault. 
 
Sean Gizzi (4.10-meters), Alex Szymanik (3.95-meters), and Brennan Pringle (3.95-meters) would all show collegiate firsts in the pole vault while Wilson put up a height of 3.80-meters.
 
In the shot put, David Fuhrman and Jaron Tate would mark collegiate bests in their first meet. Fuhrman threw a 13.64-meter distance while Tate threw a 10.97-meter throw.
 
TCNJ INDOOR OPENER
 
In the 60-meter preliminary, Tyler Ressler and Edward Abel took to the track. Ressler clocked a 7.35 while Abel ran in a 7.90 just behind.
 
A non-traditional 300-meter dash was led by Tristen Silverstein and Abel. Silverstein led the two with a 37.33 and Abel finished in a 40.77.
 
Another non-traditional 600-meter race featured a first from Sam Knowles who captured a 1:20.26. Jonathan David finished fourth with a 1:26.94 and Jason DiMarco crossed fifth with a 1:27.60.
 
The mile featured first year Austin Parks who led the Pride with a 4:44.60 and Aston Ray finished just behind in a 4:46.96.
 
Silverstein also competed in the 60-meter hurdles where he finished 16th with a 9.25.
 
In the field Ressler jumped a 5.97-meter distance in the long jump to lead Jacob Grossman. Gossman finished one place behind with a 5.94-meter distance.
 
Grossman also competed in the triple jump where his best of the six jumps showed a 12.63-meter distance.

Widener returns to the track in the new year in Staten Island, N.Y. at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the St. Thomas Aquinas Invite on Saturday, Jan. 11.
