BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Widener Women's Track and Field control the MAC top times list after closing out Moravian's Indoor Meet.
First year Mariam Koita opened her collegiate career in the 60-meter dash. Koita would run a 7.98 to qualify for AARTFCs and MACs. Returning to the track was
Jayla Gore. Gore would run an 8.18 to open the season just shy of her personal best.
Maria Muzzarelli continued to display her 200-meter speed with a 26.25. Koita finished 0.01 after Muzzarelli and both would earn AARTFC and MAC standards. Muzzarelli and Koita hold the top two times in the conference currently.
Transitioning from the soccer field to the track was
Kelly Barr in the 400-meter. Barr would run a 1:01.10 with
Emma Schultz registering a 1:02.68. Barr and Schultz hold the top two times in the MAC after their performances.
After closing out her Cross Country season at the NCAA Championship,
Gabby Nye returned for the indoor season in the mile. Nye ran a 5:17.58 which would be fast enough for a top time in the conference with Liz Egan behind her with a 5:20.86.
Sydni Bell's 10.29 in the 60-meter hurdles earned a MAC qualification.
In the field events,
Cheyenne Miller would mark a 9.97-meter throw in the shot put to set a new personal best.
Miller would continue the trend in the weight throw with a 10.90-meter mark. Leading the Pride in the weight throw was
Sydney Altman who would mark a 12.17-meter throw.
Isabel Rodriguez would split Altman and Miller with a 11.23-meter throw. All threw would see a MAC standard.
