Game 1: 10-0 | Game 2: 0-1

YORK, Pa. – The Pride opened the final series of the season with a split to the York Spartans to grab a MAC Commonwealth Tournament berth.

Following the split, the Pride move to 20-18 in the regular season and 14-9 in MAC Commonwealth play.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT JAQUET FIELD IN GAME ONE

Anthony Boccio, Kyle Brex, and Justin Costanzo put up two runs a piece for the Pride. Brex led the team with three hits. Through six innings pitched, Sean Curran threw 109 pitches and walked away with six strikeouts.

The Pride bats were hot to open the game as Boccio singled to left center. Brex would then hit another single to left center. With Costanzo up to bat, the two stole a bag to advance to second and third. Costanzo would escape after being hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. Andrew Yates would steal four pitches for a walk to bring home Boccio for the first run of the game. Nick Barnez hit a sac fly to right which brought home Brex. With two outs, Bryce Fremgen hit home Costanzo on a fielder's choice. After half an inning the Pride led by three.

In the bottom half of the first, the Spartans got two on base but the Curran was on top of his game as he and Fregmen picked off a Spartans runner at first. The following innings were quiet on both sides as they saw 1-2-3 innings.

Runs continued to pour in during the top of the third. Brex got things started with a single to left center while Costanzo hit a homer to the opposite side to bring home Brex. A pitching change for the Spartans led Andrew Yates to single and Barnez to walk. On a wild pitch the two advanced with Fremgen scoring on a sac fly. The score at the end of three was 7-0.

The Pride defense stood strong with the offense sealing the deal in the top of the sixth where they scored three more. Garrett McClain singled to right to set up Gabe Franczyk to pinch run. Stephen Posner got on base from an error to push Franczyk to third. Ryan Weaver saw on base action with a fielder's choice sac bunt to score Franczyk. Boccio walked to load the bases with one out. Brex had another single to bring home Posner while Costanzo grounded out to second to bring in Boccio. With three more runs to the Pride score, the Spartans brought in another pitcher. The Pride left three on base and brought in three runs on two hits and an error.

The final chance for the Spartans came in the bottom of the seventh as the bases were loaded with two outs. The defense would leave all three on base and end the game with a 10-0 win on a fly out to left.

HOW IT HAPPENED AT JAQUET FIELD IN GAME TWO

The Pride's second game of the doubleheader featured three Pride hits from Brex, Yates, and Barenz. On the mound Tyler Conlan and Aidan O'Brien would combine for 93 pitches and hold the Spartans to one run. The two would throw six strikeouts and only walk two.

In game two the first three innings were short 1-2-3 innings with both side's pitching holding strong.
