Throws of Widener women’s track and field shine at the West Chester Bill Butler Invitational

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener women's track and field team made a short trip down 476 for the Bill Butler Invitational.
 
TRACK
 
Maria Muzzarelli continued to display her talents in the 100-meter dash as she led the Pride to a 1-2 finish with a time of 12.72. Jayla Gore finished just behind with a 12.82. Kelly Barr ran a personal best and clocked a 12.95 to finish eighth. Emma Schultz rounded out the group of four with a 13.67. All four earned MAC qualifications.
 
FIELD
 
In the triple jump, Tia Furbush converted a 10.06-meter jump to earn a MAC qualification.
 
Cheyenne Miller hit a long of 9.19-meters in the shot put to earn an invite to the MAC Championships in April.
 
The discus and hammer throw featured two Pride throwers. In the discus, Isabel Rodriguez threw one mark which would mark at a 31.50-meter throw while the other two were fouls. Later in the weight throw, Rodriguez saw a personal best after her 46.36-meter throw. She earned MAC qualifications in both events and added an AARTFC invite in the weight throw. Sydney Altman also threw in the hammer throw and marked a personal best with a 31-meter throw. Altman would earn a MAC standard.
 
 
UP NEXT
Widener returns home on Friday and Saturday to host the Widener Invitational. Throwing events will kick off the meet on Friday while the running portion will begin on Saturday.
