Women’s Basketball Head Coach Reaches Milestone in Quarterfinals Win

Kintner is in her 20th Season at Widener

CHESTER, Pa. – Widener women's basketball head coach Alisa Kintner achieved her 300th career win on Monday after taking down the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen. Her career record at Widener, after 20 seasons, comes to 300-214 (.584).

Kintner said she is proud of what her teams have accomplished in her time at Widener.

"I'm grateful to my staff, and past and current players, who have been part of these 300 wins," she said. "I couldn't accomplish this without their dedication to the program."

Coming off a 19-7 campaign in 2021-22, the Pride accumulated a 10-15 record in the 2022-23 regular season. Kintner's roster was young, as 11 of 14 players were either a first-year student or a sophomore. However, by using a 5-2 push at the end of the season, the Pride claimed the fifth seed in the MAC playoffs.

Some of Kintner's highlights during her tenure at Widener have included four NCAA Tournament berths and orchestrating the only three 20-win seasons in the history of the women's basketball program. She was also named MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year last season, the fourth time she has claimed that honor.

Following two seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Delaware Valley, Kintner was hired as Widener's women's basketball head coach for the 2003-04 season.
