CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Women's Basketball head coach Alisa Kintner announced the 2026-27 schedule.
The Pride are looking to carry positive momentum from last season into this upcoming one. Widener finished with a 21-6 overall record and an 11-3 record in MAC Conference play. The Pride entered the conference tournament as the no.2 seed and would knock off Alvernia in the semifinals before falling to Messiah in the MAC Championship game.
Kintner discussed her optimism heading into the season.
"We're really excited about this upcoming season and the group we have coming back. We have a good mix of returning players and newcomers, and our biggest focus has been building team chemistry, getting stronger, and establishing our identity early."
Kintner also touched on her thoughts about the upcoming schedule.
"Our schedule will challenge us, but we're excited to open the season at home with our TFD Consulting Widener Basketball Tip-Off Tournament and compete in front of our fans, community and parents. Our goal is to continue improving every day, play together, compete on every possession, and put ourselves in a position to compete for a MAC Commonwealth championship."
The squad loses MAC Defensive Player of the Year and All-MAC first team honoree Lindsay Kutz, Second team selection Avalynn Baer and 20 point per game scorer Mia Robbins to graduation. Returning key contributors include junior guard Riley Stackhouse and senior guard Giada Palmieri. Stackhouse was third on the team in scoring last night, averaging 12 points per game while pulling down almost four rebounds a game. Palmieri was a key scorer off the bench, contributing 7.7 points per game and will step into a larger role this season.
