Akron, OH. -  Women's Basketball head coach Alisa Kintner has been selected to the Eurobasket Coaching Family and will serve as the head coach of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) team during an international basketball tour of Belgium and the Netherlands in May 2027.

Kintner and a group of graduating MAC student-athletes will travel to Europe from May 20-28, where the team will play four games while experiencing the culture and history of Western Europe.

The team will feature graduating players from 20 MAC institutions, representing both the MAC Freedom and MAC Commonwealth. The Freedom side will be represented by Arcadia, Delaware Valley, DeSales, FDU-Florham, King's (Pa.), Lycoming, Marywood, Misericordia, Stevens and Wilkes, while Albright, Alvernia, Eastern, Hood, Lebanon Valley, Messiah, Neumann, Stevenson, Widener and York (Pa.) will represent the Commonwealth side.

The opportunity will give the graduating student-athletes one final chance to take the court together after completing their fourth or fifth year of college basketball. In addition to competing internationally, the players will have the opportunity to gain exposure to basketball overseas and potentially connect with individuals involved in professional basketball.

"I am excited to represent the MAC and coach these student-athletes as they take the court together one more time in an international setting," Kintner said. "It is a great opportunity to celebrate their careers, challenge them competitively, and create memories that will last well beyond their final college season."

For Kintner, the European trip will add another international chapter to a coaching career that has spanned more than two decades. Entering her 23rd season at the helm of the Pride in 2026-27, Kintner has guided Widener to five NCAA Tournament appearances and the only five 20-win seasons in program history. She has also earned numerous coaching honors, including the 2025-26 MAC Commonwealth Co-Coach of the Year award.

Kintner has coached multiple All-Americans during her tenure, including Kate Dellinger, Jen Egee and Devan Rimmer, while helping numerous Pride student-athletes earn All-MAC Commonwealth recognition.

Her international coaching experience dates back to 2009, when she served as the head coach of a team competing as part of the USA Athletes International Tour in Barbados.

Now, more than 15 years later, Kintner will return to the international stage, this time leading a collection of graduating student-athletes from across the MAC.

Eurobasket Tours describes its international basketball experiences as an opportunity to combine competition with travel, cultural exploration and connections through the sport. The 2027 Netherlands/Belgium tour is one of several destinations offered by the organization.

For the MAC student-athletes, the trip will provide an opportunity to continue competing at a high level after their collegiate careers come to a close. For Kintner, it will be an opportunity to represent the conference while helping a group of graduating players create one more lasting memory through the game they have dedicated years of their lives to.

"For others, it is simply an opportunity to have one last unforgettable experience playing the sport they have dedicated so much of their lives to," Kintner said.
