HAVERFORD, Pa. – Widener women's indoor track and field topped off their regular season indoor racing at the Keogh Invitational hosted by Haverford.
Widener sent a handful of runners to the Keogh Invitational in search for last minute qualifiers for MAC Championships that are slated for Feb. 24 and 25.
First year
Olivia Giannella grabbed a MAC standard in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.48. Teammates
Jena Luck and
Lindsay LaPointe also competed and finished in a 9.17 and 9.43 respectively.
Giannella went on to set a new collegiate best in the 200-meter dash. Her time of 28.28 earned her a MAC qualification along with
Carly Lownes who ran in a 28.34.
Emma Schutlz registered a new collegiate best with a time of 1:02.39 in the 400-meter. Teammate
Elise Daniel finished just behind with a 1:03.94. Both times for the ladies earned qualifications for championships.
In the 800-meter run,
Erin O'Brien set a new collegiate best in 2:39.52.
Sydni Bell added a qualification in the 60-meter hurdles. She clocked in at 9.69.
In the field events,
Savannah Steger continued her qualification string with another AARTFC and MAC standard in the pole vault. Steger jumped a 3.28-meter mark. Currently Steger sits at third in conference rankings after her performance at the Fastrack National Invitational.
Maria Muzzarelli set a new collegiate best in the long jump with a mark of 5.02-meters. Her jump earned a MAC qualification. After her new best, she ranks eight in the conference. Bell also competed and earned a standard with a 4.62-meter mark.
Mya Kennedy competed in her first meet and set her mark at 3.47-meters.

Widener returns to the indoor track one last time at the MAC Championships on Feb. 24 and 25 in Reading, Pa. MAC Championships are set to be hosted by Alvernia.
