CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Women's Swimming fell in a tough non-conference matchup as Meyers led the Pride with two individual wins.
The 153.5-105.5 loss put the Pride at 2-2 in the regular season and 2-1 in the MAC.
Senior
Sally Meyers opened the Pride firsts in the 1000-yard free where she took the race in 11:37.22. Meyers would pace 35 per 50.
Jenna Angelucci snagged a third place with an 11:57.03 while holding 36's per 50.
Olivia Giambalvo took second in the 200-yard free with a 2:08.89 to fall just off her own season best.
Meyers took her second first of the meet in the 200-yard butterfly in a 2:22.68 while
Kaitlyn Fahy and Kyle Rodi took a 3-4 finish. Fahy would clock in a 2:30.30 while Rodi hit in 2:34.24.
Giambalvo took second in the sprint 50 to just miss first in a 26.74.
Olivia Downs would miss third by .5 with a 27.39.
Coming out of the break,
Lauren Kalsbeek tied for first in the 100-yard free. Kalsbeek took first with Melanie Hahn of Ursinus in a 56.50.
Angelucci led the Pride in the 200-yard backstroke with a third place with a 2:22.00.
Caroline Anderson,
Sophia Sapnas, and Fahy followed with 2:22.98, 2:24.06, and 2:26.58 respectively.
Anna Durboraw snuck into second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:47.37 to split the Bears.
Kalsbeek snagged her second win in the 500-yard free. She won in a 5:27.29 while holding 33's.
Kaitlyn Beden grabbed a third with a 5:56.77.
In the final few events, Meyers found a third in the 100-yard butterfly with a 1:03.97 while Rodi finished two seconds behind in a 1:05.42. Durboraw took third in the 200-yard individual medley with a 2:32.60.
The Pride closed out the meet with a second in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The quad of Meyers, Giambalvo, Anderson, and Kalsbeek swam a 3:54.81.
