RADNOR, Pa. – A final meeting of teams ends in a Widener Women's Swimming victory over the Cabrini Cavaliers on Saturday morning.
The 137-24 win puts the Pride at 3-2 in the regular season and keeps the Pride at 2-1 in MAC meets.
The Pride capture an early first in the 200-yard medley relay with
Jenna Angelucci,
Taylor Sholl,
Olivia Giambalvo, and
Kaitlyn Fahy clocking a 2:06.86.
Sally Meyers led a 1-2-3 win in the 200-yard free with a 2:04.83 as
Caroline Anderson (2:14.41) and
Kylie Rodi (2:14.70) followed.
The sprint race of the 50-yard free was led by
Olivia Downs who would capture first in a 26.84.
Sophia Sapnas took second with a 27.49.
The Blue and Gold's individual medley specialists took a 1-2-3 in the 400-yard race.
Lauren Kalsbeek led with a 4:57.84 while
Anna Durboraw and Fahy took the following places. Durboraw would swim a 5:18.72 and Fahy a 5:23.20.
Meyers captured her second win in the 100-yard butterfly to be the only competitor with a 1:02.99.
Anderson took first in the 100-yard free with a 59.23.
Patsy McDonald took second with a 1:01.77 to secure a 1-2 finish.
Angelucci led a 1-2-3 win in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:06.62 to barely miss her season best 1:06.56. Shea Rane followed with a 1:08.02 and
Margaret Eckenroth swam a 1:15.56.
The Pride distance swimmers took a 1-2 finish in the 500-yard free with Giambalvo marking a season best 5:59.00. Downs took second with a 6:08.62.
Sholl picked up her second win of the day in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:20.25.
A final relay race would conclude the day of racing with a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard free relay. McDonald, Kalsbeek, Sapnas, and Giambalvo took first with a 1:46.58 while Fahy, Angelucci, Eckenroth, and Sholl took second with a 1:54.77.
