READING, Pa. – First meet of the season for Widener Swimming displays dominance on both sides over the Albright College Lions.
 
Women: 137-27
Men: 128-36
 
Following wins on both sides, the Pride advance to 1-0 on the season and in the MAC.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Pride women open with a sweet in the 200-yard medley relay as Jenna Angelucci, Anna Durboraw, Olivia Downs, and Olivia Giambalvo grab first with a 2:02.82. The men would follow suit as Shane Douthit, Josh Cunningham, Matthew Niro, and Jadyn Manning hit the wall in 1:40.35.
• First year Kaitlyn Beden grabbed her first win of her collegiate career in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:06.05.
• A sweep in the 200-yard freestyle ended with Sally Meyers and Kaitlyn Fahy taking first in the women's race and Manning and Marcus Moreef grabbing 1-2 in the men's race.
• Junior Lauren Kalsbeek grabbed first in the 200-yard individual medley to out touch Stuhltrager of Albright with a 2:20.23. On the other side, Adam Bailey led the 1-2-3 with a 2:11.59.
• In the 100-yard breaststroke for the women, Durboraw picked up a first on a 1-2-3 finish with a 1:17.41. Michael Machristie led another 1-2-3 for the Pride in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:05.57.
• The meet would end with a 1:48.86 in the 200-yard freestyle relay for Kalsbeek, Giambalvo, Kylie Rodi, and Downs. Dan Jackson, Douthit, Patrick Rankin, and Shane Hubbard would close with a 1:33.45.
