Carly Gable set strides in Widener's history at Moravian's Indoor Track Meet on Saturday.
Junior
Gabby Nye continued making history at Widener on Saturday after she set a school record in the 3000-meter run. Her time of 10:20.23 earned an AARTFC and MAC qualification. Nye currenlty ranks 40th in the nation.
Teammate
Elizabeth Egan also earned herself an AARTFC and MAC qualification with a time of 10:38.39. Her time puts her fourth in Widener's All-Time Top 10 list. In conference standings, Nye and Egan currently rank first and fourth.
Carly Gable paced herself to a 18:31.98 in the 5000-meter run which set a new season best. Gable's time ranks her first in the MAC with just over a month to go until MAC Championships held in Reading, Pa.
In the 60-meter dash, first year
Jayla Gore continued her dominance from last week as she currently ranks 40 in the nation. Her time of 7.90 sets her at third in the MAC just .01 behind teammate
Maria Muzzarelli.
On the field side, junior
Savannah Steger earned an AARTFC and MAC qualification in the pole vault with a 3.04-meter mark.
Tia Furbush set college bests in the long jump with a long of 4.62 meters and in the triple jump with a 10.14-meter mark. Furbush recorded an AARTFC and MAC qualification from her jumps and currently sits at 15th in the MAC.
UP NEXT
Widener hits the road again next Saturday, January 28 as they travel to Haverford for the McElligott Invitational. Events for the day are set for a 10:30 a.m. start.
