OWINGS MILLS, Md. –
Juliana Sanchez recorded her first career hat trick while leading the Widener field hockey team past Stevenson, 3-0, in their MAC Commonwealth game Saturday afternoon at Stevenson University.
With the victory, the Pride are now 6-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play. The victory is the second road victory for the Pride this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST STEVENSON
- After a scoreless first period, Sanchez scored her first goal two minutes into the second period. Then, the sophomore forward tallied two goals in the fourth period in the 46th and 52nd minutes, respectively.
- Jesse Schlosser assisted on Sanchez's fourth-quarter goals. By doing so, the graduate student moved into second all-time in Widener history with 24. Schlosser needs two more assists to surpass Missy Papas' school record.
- Offensively, the Pride took six shots with four on goal.
- First year Lily Rejrat notched four saves on the day while earning the shutout in goal.
